India’s Bowling Struggles Against Australia’s Batting Prowess on Day 2

The second day belonged to Australia’s batsmen, with Travis Head smashing a magnificent 152 runs and Steve Smith contributing a solid 101.

The day began with Usman Khawaja and McSweeney forging a 31-run opening partnership before India claimed their first wicket in the form of Khawaja. McSweeney (9) and Marnus Labuschagne (12) followed soon after. However, Steve Smith’s arrival at the crease turned the game in Australia’s favor.

Smith and Head put together a colossal 241-run partnership, showcasing brilliant batting. Smith’s innings of 101 included 12 boundaries, while Head played a commanding knock of 152, laced with 18 fours. Alex Carey chipped in with an unbeaten 45 runs towards the end of the day, propelling Australia to a strong total of 405/7 by stumps.

Indian Bowling Efforts:

India’s bowlers toiled hard for wickets. Jasprit Bumrah started the day strong, claiming the wicket of Khawaja early. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers, ending the day with an impressive five-wicket haul.
Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Rana chipped in with a wicket each.
